Description
This scholarship covers 15% of registered tuition fees for the duration of study up to a maximum of four years.
Applicants must have an offer for an eligible course commencing in 2025, and either be a citizen of an eligible country listed, or residing onshore in Australia at the time of applying for their student visa.
Benefits
Recipients of the merit-based Tasmanian International Scholarship are also eligible for the Early Acceptance Scholarship at a reduced rate of 10%. The total Tasmanian International Scholarship + Early Acceptance Scholarship package gives eligible students a total of a 35% reduction on registered tuition fees for the full duration of the course.
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be classified as an International Student as defined under the Application rules of the University of Tasmania.
- Be a citizen of Bahrain, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, or Vietnam, or a student residing onshore in Australia at the time of applying for their student visa.
- Must be enrolled full-time in an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree (see terms and conditions below)
- Not be a student from a Transnational Education (TNE) partner affiliated with the University of Tasmania.
- Not be in receipt of any other University of Tasmania scholarship or any external sponsorship (with the exception of the Tasmanian International scholarship - see TIS+Early Acceptance Scholarship package for details).
- Not be commencing at the University of Tasmania through an articulation agreement with a partner institution.
- Be commencing the first year of their program in 2025.

Students are assessed automatically upon submission of their International Student Application so there is no need to apply separately. Offer letters will notify applicants if they have been awarded the scholarship.
