At The Meza Law Firm, PLLC, they believe in the power of language to help people in need. As a bilingual law firm focused on representing immigrants, they know just how challenging it can be to navigate a legal system behind a language barrier.
Bilingual lawyers address a unique need in our society, advocating for people who would otherwise struggle to speak up for themselves.
They want to see more bilingual legal professionals in the field doing good work. In service of that ideal, they are opening the Bridging the Divide Scholarship for current or upcoming law students who are fluent in more than one language.
They will award $1,000 to the winner of this scholarship for his or her continuing legal studies.
If you are interested in applying for the Bridging the Divide Scholarship, you must meet all of the following requirements:
They require all applicants to answer the following prompt in video format:
How do you hope to utilize your bilingual skillset to benefit your future career? Elaborate on how your language background inspired you to pursue a major or minor in legal studies. In the final 20 to 30 seconds of your video, please demonstrate your other language.
The length of this video response should be approximately 3 minutes in length and submitted through the digital application below.
They will judge all responses according to ther evaluation criteria:
