Description
This scholarship provides support to an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework student undertaking a degree in social work/social welfare.
Benefits
A full-time enrolled recipient will receive $10,000 per annum for up to one year.
A part-time enrolled recipient will receive $5,000 per annum for up to two years.
Eligibility
You must:
- be undertaking an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree in social work/social welfare specialising in any of the following areas:
- HIV/Aids
- mental health
- violence
- disability
- discrimination and marginalisation
- poverty, and/or
- homelessness
- demonstrate financial hardship based on one or more of the below:
- identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as defined in the University of Sydney’s Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identity Policy 2015
- low socio-economic status
- carer responsibilities
- long-term medical condition/disability
- sole-parent responsibilities
- regional or remote disadvantage
- refugee status
- identify as LGBTIQ+, and/or
- first in family.
