Description

This scholarship provides support to an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework student undertaking a degree in social work/social welfare.

Benefits

A full-time enrolled recipient will receive $10,000 per annum for up to one year.

A part-time enrolled recipient will receive $5,000 per annum for up to two years.

Eligibility

You must:

  • be undertaking an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree in social work/social welfare specialising in any of the following areas: 
    • HIV/Aids
    • mental health
    • violence
    • disability
    • discrimination and marginalisation
    • poverty, and/or
    • homelessness
  • demonstrate financial hardship based on one or more of the below:
    • identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as defined in the University of Sydney’s Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identity Policy 2015
    • low socio-economic status
    • carer responsibilities
    • long-term medical condition/disability
    • sole-parent responsibilities
    • regional or remote disadvantage 
    • refugee status 
    • identify as LGBTIQ+, and/or
    • first in family.
