Description

This scholarship offers students a unique opportunity to work at a leading Independent School within the Greater Sydney area.

Benefits

This scholarship is valued at $12,000 per annum for full-time bachelor's degree and is tenable for up to one year.

This scholarship is valued at $9,000 for full-time master's degree and is tenable for up to nine months.

Eligibility

You must:

  • be currently enrolled to study full-time within the School of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney in the final year of one of the following degrees:
    • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)
    • Bachelor of Education (Primary)
    • Bachelor of Education (Secondary)
    • Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Secondary)
    • Master of Teaching (Early Childhood)
    • Master of Teaching (Secondary)
    • Master of Teaching (Primary).
  • be conducting study in one or more of the following areas of study:
    • Early Learning
    • Primary Education
    • Secondary Education – Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Commerce/Business Studies/Economics, History.
  • have a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 75 across the past two years of study
  • be willing to complete the following at Abbotsleigh School as a Bachelor’s degree student:
    • spend one day a week (or equivalent) Placement at the School for School Terms 1, 2, 3 and 4 (except during the unpaid internship/placements)
    • undertake an unpaid internship at the School during School Term 4 or, in the case of the B.Ed Secondary and B.Ed/BAS Secondary, unpaid placements in Term 1, 2 and 4,
    • receive guidance from a mentor teacher, and
    • participate in academic, pastoral and co-curricular activities.
