Description

The Shore Teacher Education Scholarship has been established to offer students a unique opportunity to work at a leading Independent School within the Greater Sydney area.

Benefits

This scholarship is valued at $12,000 per annum for full-time bachelor's degree and is tenable for up to one year.

This scholarship is valued at $9,000 per annum for full-time master's degree and is tenable for up to nine months.

Eligibility

You must:

  • be planning to be enrolled full-time in the final year of 2026 within the School of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney in the final year.
  • be conducting study in one or more of the following areas of study:
    • Primary teaching,
    • Secondary teaching in one or more of the following areas:
      • Mathematics
      • Science
      • English
      • Languages
      • HSIE (History, Geography, Commerce, Economics and Business Studies)
      • Creative Arts (Music, Drama and Visual Arts)
      • Technology and Applied Studies
      • Physical Education
  • have a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 75 across the past two years of study if enrolled in a Bachelor's degree
  • be willing to (for Bachelor's degree students):
    • spend one day a week at the School for School Terms 1, 2, ,3 (except during the unpaid internship/placements)
    • undertake an unpaid internship at the School during School Term 4
  • be willing to (for Master's degree students):
    • spend one day a week at the School for School Terms 1 and 2
    • undertake an unpaid internship at the School during School Term 3 
  • be willing to (for both Bachelor's and Master's students):
    • receive guidance from a mentor teacher
    • participate in academic, pastoral and co-curricular activities.
