Description

This Scholarship provides financial assistance to a first-year student enrolled in a postgraduate coursework degree related to policy and law reform within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Benefits

This scholarship is valued at $2,175 and is tenable for 1 year.

Eligibility

You must:

  • be currently enrolled in the first year in one of the following degrees: 
    • Master of Cultural Studies
    • Master of Digital Communication and Culture
    • Master of Economics
    • Master of Economic Analysis
    • Master of Health Communication
    • Master of International Relations
    • Master of International Security
    • Master of Media Practice
    • Master of Public Policy
    • Master of Political Economy
    • Master of Social Justice (Human Rights)
    • Master of Social Justice (Peace and Conflict Studies)
    • Master of Social Justice (Development Studies)
    • Master of Social Work
    • Master of Social Work (Qualifying)
  • demonstrate competence and interest in policy and law reform 
  • be able to demonstrate that they are experiencing financial hardship, including but not limited to being related to one or more of the below. Supporting documents must be provided.
    • identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person as defined in the University of Sydney’s Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identity Policy 2015
    • low socio-economic status
    • long-term medical condition/disability (including ongoing effects of abuse)
    • carer responsibilities
    • sole-parent responsibilities
    • regional or remote disadvantage
    • refugee status, 
    • identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex or queer (LGBTIQ+), and/or
    • first in family
  • not have accepted another scholarship or grant, internal or external to the University of Sydney, at a value of $5,000 per annum or more.
