Description

Having a teacher or professor for a parent is something to be proud of. At DM Family Law, they want to honor educators and their families by opening this scholarship opportunity to the children of educators across the United States. This award will be given to one student per semester after their judges thoroughly review all applications.

Eligibility

Before you apply for the Legacy of Education Scholarship, please review our eligibility requirements to make sure that you qualify:

  • You must be the child of a licensed teacher, professor, or other educator.
  • You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • You must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate program within the United States for the Fall semester.
  • You must be at least 17 years old.
  • You must be a permanent resident or citizen of the United States.

Applicants for the Legacy of Education Scholarship must respond, in approximately 500 words, to the following prompt in essay format:

Describe how your parent’s career as an educator impacted your academic pursuits.

What have you learned from your parent to further your own education? In addition to your essay, you must include proof of your enrollment at an accredited institution in the form of an acceptance letter, unofficial transcript, or other similar documentation.

You must also submit evidence of your most recently achieved GPA.

All applications must be submitted before the deadline of September 7, 2026.
