Through their Vasquez Law Firm DACA Dreamer Scholarship, they hope to make the dream of pursuing a college education more attainable for students.
The North Carolina legal team also has vast experience helping young undocumented immigrants receive relief through Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival–or DACA.
Through DACA, undocumented students may be able to pursue a higher education in the United States. They understand how difficult it can be for many of these students to receive financial assistance when attending college. Through our Vasquez Law Firm DACA Dreamer Scholarship, they hope to make the dream of pursuing a college education more attainable for these students.
The Vasquez Law Firm DACA Dreamer Scholarship awards $1,000 to two exceptional students each semester to use toward their educational expenses. They are honored to help these students continue to fight for their American Dream.
Applicants should include their contact information, an unofficial academic transcript, and proof of enrollment if their transcript does not provide evidence that they are enrolled at an accredited university or college for the Spring semester. They also ask each student to provide documentation proving their DACA status, which may include a copy of their Notice of Deferred Action or Employment Authorization Document.
Additionally, to apply for this scholarship, students must submit a piece of art of their choosing. The art should depict what it has meant to the student to immigrate to the United States. This may include (but is not limited to) one of the following options:
Painting
Sculpture
Canvas Art
Pottery
Poetry (This must be submitted as the student reciting the poem via recording or video).
