Description
The Department of Counseling is pleased to announce the Jaci and Darryl Schoen Textbook Scholarship awarded once per semester funded by Jaci Schoen MS LMFT (CSUF Counseling, 2012) and Darryl Schoen.
Their generous donation will provide scholarship money toward the purchase of textbooks in the amount of $200.00 for students who are enrolled in the Department of Counseling.

Eligibility
This scholarship is open to students who meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled in the Department of Counseling with the intention to seek the Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) credential and/or the Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) credential
- Must have completed first semester at CSUF within the program
- Demonstrates financial need
- Demonstrates academic achievement with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 in graduate level courses with no outstanding incomplete grades
- Demonstrates commitment to improving the quality of life for children and/or adults in the community.
- Students who have been awarded another Department scholarship in the past are not eligible to apply.
Applicants will be evaluated based on:
- Enrollment status and first semester completion
- Financial need
- Academic achievement
- Commitment to improving the quality of life for children and/or adults in the community.
- Considerations for applicants are: diverse race and ethnicities, inclusive of all gender, sexual and romantic orientations, first generation college students, and students with undocumented status.

Complete the Fall 2026 CSUF Scholarship Application within the Titan Scholarship Portal.
Supplemental Essay Requirement: Write a brief essay (600 words max) about how you qualify for the scholarship using the above criteria as well as indicating their level of need and how this scholarship money might be used.
Supplemental Materials - Attachments: Upload a copy of your unofficial transcripts that include your GPA.
