The Norway-America Association (NORAM) helps Norwegian and American students achieve their dreams of studying abroad by administering and awarding scholarships for education. Since 1919, NORAM has awarded more than 5,000 scholarships for Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, post-doc, further education and work placements.

Description

NORAM offers scholarships to U.S. citizens pursuing graduate level studies in Norway. The purpose of the scholarship program is to provide financial support for Americans to study in Norway. By supporting post-graduate study or research in areas of mutual importance to Norway and the United States, they hope to bring the two countries closer. Through awarding scholarships to American students and researchers, they invest in the growth of knowledge and understanding and it will strengthen the ties of friendship between the two countries.

Benefits

The scholarship amounts vary up to NOK 40,000. The size of each individual grant will depend on the research subject, purpose, financial need, and the intended length of stay in Norway.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be an American citizen, planning to study or currently studying in Norway.
  • The application must be for the 2025-26 academic year.
  • The applicant must have completed a bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree.
  • Preference may be given to applicants pursuing their first master's degree.
  • The application fee is non-refundable.
