Description

Gratefully supported by the British Council, Durham University is delighted to announce five fully funded scholarships for female students from Mexico interested in pursuing master’s studies in the 2025/26 academic year.

Benefits

Eligibility

Applications from women whose identities include multiple intersecting factors, including race, class, religion and women who are single mothers are particularly welcome.

To be eligible for the British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM, you must:

  • Be a woman (cis-gendered or trans) or identify as non-binary;
  • Be a passport holder and permanent resident of Mexico;
  • Have submitted an academic application to study on one of the eligible Durham University postgraduate programmes, as listed above;
  • Have completed all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a postgraduate programme at Durham University by the time you submit your application and be due to start your postgraduate programme in the UK during 2024;
  • Have not previously studied at degree level or higher in the UK or lived recently in the UK;
  • Meet the English Language requirements of your chosen Masters programme at Durham University;
  • Demonstrate your case for financial support;
  • Not be in receipt of financial support or funding towards your study programme in the UK from any other source and not be able to privately fund your UK studies;
  • Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship award has ended.

Please ensure you have submitted an academic application, with all supporting documents (proof of English Language, academic transcripts, references etc. – correctly translated), via the postgraduate online application portal for one of the eligible programmes by midnight (GMT) 1st April.

In addition to submitting the academic application above, please complete the British Council Women in STEM Scholarship Online Application Form by midnight (GMT) 30th April.
