Description
The Sanctuary Scholarships are available for new Undergraduate (UG) and new Postgraduate Taught (PGT) students, starting September. Our Sanctuary Scholarship supports 2 students per year who are seeking sanctuary in the UK, 1 Undergraduate and 1 Postgraduate.
Benefits
The University of Southampton will:
cover 100% of tuition fee costs for each year of study (3 years for UG and 1 year for PGT)
provide a bursary for each year of study to help with additional study costs (this is flexible given individual circumstances)
provide a welcome pack
support with university accommodation (if you have specific requirements, please contact the Sanctuary Coordinator
Eligibility
Applicants for the Sanctuary Scholarship will need to:
- hold an offer from the University of Southampton to study on either an Undergraduate or Postgraduate Taught course.
They will also need:
- to be an asylum seeker *- a person who has made a claim within the UK for refugee status, or,
- to be a person who has been granted some form of temporary status* - such as limited leave to remain etc.

Submit scholarship application along with required evidence such as programme offer letter (outlined in the application form).
The Sanctuary Coordinator will process the forms and may contact applicants should further information be required.
The Undergraduate deadline is Sunday 25th May (to keep within the time frame for UCAS Decline by Default). The Postgraduate deadline is Friday 6th June.
