As the only Microbiology & Immunology programme in the Canadian Maritime provinces, Dalhousie University 's Master of Science in Microbiology and Immunology programme has a long-standing reputation for academic and research excellence, and well-funded and internationally recognized research groups.

As a graduate student, you’ll not only build a solid core of general microbiology and immunology knowledge, you also have the opportunity to concentrate on your preferred area of study. The department has four areas of specialization, including:

bacteriology & microbial pathogens
cancer
immunology/inflammation

virology

Research is the most important aspect of the programme and you’ll be supervised and mentored by world-class researchers as you explore and conduct your independent research. In addition, a competitive level of funding support is available to full-time graduate students through research awards and remuneration for teaching in undergraduate laboratories.
