Overview
The Master’s specialisation in Cyber Security at Radboud University has a course load of 120 ECTS and takes two years. The first year of this specialisation contains six compulsory courses. You can compose the rest of the programme with electives.

Year 1 focuses on advanced coursework in cyber security, cryptography, secure systems, networks, and risk management, combined with electives and training in research methods. You will develop both technical depth and an understanding of security challenges in real-world contexts.

General requirements
Completed Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from a research university (WO) in Computing Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or another related discipline that provides a strong foundation in computing and mathematics.
- Bachelor’s programme must include relevant computing coursework (such as programming, algorithms, data structures, networks, security basics, and mathematics), as well as a Bachelor’s final project or thesis demonstrating academic and research competence.
- Demonstrable familiarity with research methods, academic writing and critical thinking (e.g., via thesis or internship).
- Sufficient proficiency in English (for English-taught programmes), via diploma or standard test (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge, PTE Academic and LanguageCert).
- For candidates with a Bachelor’s from a University of Applied Sciences (HBO) or other non-standard background: may be required to complete a customised Pre-Master’s programme to meet admission criteria.
