For example, you’ll know how to study the effects of drugs in the human body. Apart from research into genomics and epigenomics, you could also work on topics such as miniaturising workflows, improving experimental devices, the interface between biology and informatics, medicine from a systems approach.

Programme Structure

During the first year, you study advanced topics in epigenetics, genomics, molecular medicine, and disease mechanisms, combined with intensive laboratory and data-analysis training.

The second year consists mainly of extended research internships in a biomedical or clinical research setting, culminating in a Master’s thesis focused on epigenetic regulation in health and disease.

Completed Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from a research university (WO) in Medical Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Life Sciences, or a closely related field.
Bachelor’s programme must include coursework in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, genomics, laboratory skills, and bioinformatics, as well as a Bachelor’s thesis.
