Queen’s offers a two-year Master’s degree in Art History with options to write a major research essay, a thesis, or carry out a project-based MA (such as curating an exhibition or creating a digital humanities project). In addition to the possibility of taking advanced seminars in a small classroom setting exploring art and craft history, cultural heritage, curatorial studies, and technical examination, students may choose to carry out internships in Kingston or around the world to gain practical experience across a range of different cultural institutions.

General requirements
- A writing sample (e.g. art history essay) must be sent as electronic copy directly to the Graduate Assistant.
- A brief "Statement of Purpose" (500-600 words), outlining the applicant's specific area(s) of research and career goals must be submitted as part of the online application.
- Two current academic letters of recommendation from scholars familiar with the applicant's academic record must be sent.
- All official academic transcripts must be sent to the attention of the Graduate Assistant.
