Overview
The Laws (by Research) program from Bond University provides students with the flexibility to investigate a specific research topic of their own choice while developing their research and critical thinking skills.
The duration of the program is two years of full-time study, with part time enrolment available. During this period, you will be a member of Bond’s close-knit Higher Degree by Research (HDR) community. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with Bond’s research centres and specialist research units, and work with leading researchers and academics from all over the world.

Upon completion of the LLM (Research) you will have the knowledge and skills to advance your career in your specialised area of legal expertise. The program will open a range of academic and professional opportunities in academia or research in both private or public sectors.
Programme Structure
- The Master of Laws (Research) program comprises a 50,000 word thesis, usually completed over two years full time. Part-time options are also available. The thesis is supervised by staff expert in the subject area.
- To fulfil your student visa requirements, you will need to enrol on a full-time basis.

- The Master of Laws (Research) is offered to those with a professional law qualification (Bachelor of Laws, Juris Doctor or equivalent). Applicants are required to have at least 65 cumulative percentage average.
- As tuition is delivered in English, all students will be required to provide documented evidence of the required level of proficiency in the English language.
- Applicants must submit an Expression of Interest as to why they wish to undertake a research degree and the area of research.
- Part-time options are also available.
