Overview
The International Studies programme at the University of Northern British Columbia offers an advanced academic exploration of the complex links between global development and environmental sustainability. This interdisciplinary degree draws expertise from eleven different graduate departments to provide a comprehensive understanding of the challenges facing the modern world.
Students examine the processes affecting regions in the Global South and the Arctic from multiple theoretical perspectives. The curriculum incorporates views from international agencies and civil society organisations to analyse both mainstream and critical development approaches. This ensures graduates understand the interactions between local scales and global environmental policies.
