Overview
The Biomedical Sciences - Medical Biology programme of the University of Amsterdam is looking for students who:
- are interested in unravelling the secrets of life;
- are fascinated by acquiring in-depth fundamental knowledge of the biochemical and molecular biological background of medical phenomena;
- enjoy doing experiments;
- wish to specialize in one or multiple areas of this field of research.
Career Opportunities
Four out of five graduates of the Medical Biology programme find a job within a year of obtaining their Master's degree. Approximately half continue on in the field of research as PhD students or as researchers in industry, hospitals or institutes.Other graduates find work in education as secondary school teachers or information officers in medical NGOs. About ten percent of graduates become policy makers in areas such as government, pharmaceutical business or medical organisations.Programme Structure

General requirements
- To be eligible for the Medical Biology tracks of the Master's programme in Biomedical Sciences, you must hold a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences or Psychobiology or equivalent from a Dutch or foreign university
- You have an overall grade point average (GPA) equivalent to at least: 3.0 (American system), 2.1 (a second class upper/division one degree in the British system, C (ECTS-system)
- English language proficiency
