Overview
Literature, Visual Culture and Film Studies is an interdisciplinary programme that enables you to pursue your multiple interests in literature, film, art and visual culture. The programme is run in collaboration with the Estonian Academy of Arts. The faculty consists of the best experts in literature, film, art history and visual culture in Tallinn.
The programme offers excellent opportunities for practical training through collaboration with cultural institutions and major international art festivals in Tallinn: the A-list Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF), Tallinn International Literary Festival HeadRead, Artishok Biennale. Read about how our students participate in the formation of the PÖFF programme here. We also collaborate with Estonian Centre for Contemporary Art and the Film Archive of the National Archives of Estonia.
The studies strongly believe in the individual approach - our supportive learning environment encourages students to follow their personal research from the very early stage of their studies. Seminar-led courses, with an excellent student to lecturer ratio, foster an interactive active environment of debate and discussion. This is also a research-centred programme, which created opportunities for further studies at the PhD level.
