Overview
The program aims to train chemical engineers in line with the needs of the economy and the labour market. Graduates will be capable of developing, modelling, designing, operating, managing, and maintaining chemical and chemical technology systems and processes.
They will be trained to develop chemical technologies, processes, and new materials; apply technological processes in an energy-efficient and environmentally conscious manner; perform leadership, management, control, and organizational tasks; and carry out research, development, design, and innovation activities in the field.
They will be prepared to participate in and manage engineering projects at both the domestic and international levels, and to continue their studies in doctoral programs.
Accreditation
The Master’s program is accredited by the British Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) as the first and currently only such program in Eastern Europe, meaning the MEng degree is recognized in the UK, Commonwealth countries, and the US. It also meets FEANI requirements, enabling graduates to apply for the Eur. Ing. title.

Programme Structure (120 credits)
The programme is structured in accordance with academic and output requirements and consists of the following elements:
1. Fundamental Studies — 30 credits • Natural Sciences — 20 credits: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology • Economic and Human Studies — 10 credits: Economics, Process Management, Quality Assurance, Law
2. Core Professional Curriculum — 30 credits Chemical Processes, Unit Operations, Process Control, Process Modelling and Design, Materials Processing, Analytical Chemistry and its Applications, Materials Science
3. Specialised Professional Studies — 54 credits • Specialisation modules — 24 credits: – Hydrocarbon and Petrochemical Processing – Unit Operations – Advanced Process Engineering – Nuclear Technology – Biotechnology
• Diploma Thesis — 30 credits
4. Optional Subjects — 6 credits

General requirements
Admission Requirements — MEng Programme
Applicants must have completed at least 70 credits in relevant subjects during their previous studies. Credit recognition is based on knowledge comparison according to the Higher Education Act.
Required subject areas:
Natural sciences — 30 credits (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry — minimum 10 credits, Biochemistry, Materials Science)
Economics and human sciences — 10 credits (Micro- and Macroeconomics, Management and Enterprise Economics, Quality Assurance, Human and Social Studies)
Core Chemical Engineering — 30 credits (Chemical Processes, Measurement and Control Techniques, Unit Operations, Technology, Safety)
Applicants must have at least 40 credits from the above areas to be admitted.
Applications are accepted from engineering bachelor programmes. Applicants without a BSc in Chemical Engineering or Bioengineering must fulfil the credit requirements listed above.
Language requirement: English proficiency at B2 level or higher (CEFR or equivalent).
