Overview
Students gain knowledge about relevant research questions and findings from both fundamental and applied research. They operate successfully in the balance between globalisation and regional identity, competitiveness and sustainability, and the interests of business and society.
Graduates from the Agricultural Sciences program at ETH Zurich - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology are equipped with high-level theoretical and methodological competence and with social skills to take up challenging professional work or an academic career.
Structure of the Master’s degree programme
Students select one major, which then defines the main focus of their studies. They can further shape their personal study profile by selecting their desired combination of major, minor and elective subjects.
A student’s professional identity is defined by the chosen major. Students can choose from three majors:
- Agricultural Economics
- Animal Sciences
- Plant Sciences
Additionally, students can choose a combination of either electives of 10 credit points (CP) and a minor of 10 credit points each or two minors of 10 CP each (overall 20 CP). An internship is another obligatory part of the Master's programme. It is usually completed in the third Master's semester and lasts at least 16 weeks. The Master's thesis forms the conclusion of the Master's programme.
