Overview
The Physics programme at the Royal Military College of Canada provides advanced scientific training through dedicated Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy pathways. Students engage in high-level research across specialised fields including Acoustics and Oceanography, Space Science, and Materials Science to prepare for technical leadership roles.
Candidates for the Master of Science can choose between two distinct patterns to suit their professional goals. The thesis-based route requires four graduate courses and a significant research contribution, while the project-based option involves eight courses and a practical technical project. Full-time students usually complete these requirements within five academic terms.
The doctoral track is designed for those who have already attained a Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
Why Physics at Royal Military College of Canada?
The department maintains a strong focus on areas of strategic importance, such as remote sensing, surveillance of space, and non-destructive evaluation. Students benefit from specialised facilities like the Space Surveillance Research and Analysis Laboratory. Teaching features a blend of theoretical physics and practical military applications, particularly in underwater acoustics and satellite dynamics.
