Overview

We provide advanced study opportunities for electrical engineers who work in the power and electricity utilisation industries, electrical product manufacturing industries, government organisations and contracting and consulting companies. Electrical Engineering programme at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University 's students gain an in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art advances in modern electrical science and technology such as power systems, the industrial utilisation of electrical energy, power electronics, railway systems and drive control, automation and optoelectronics.

The programme

Two levels of awards, namely Master of Science Degree (MSc) and Postgraduate Diploma (PgD) are offered to students successfully after completing the required content of the respective awards. The awards can be in any one of the following areas (specialisms):

General requirements

As for the Master's degree or Postgraduate Diploma, the basic requirement is a Bachelor's degree from an institution that is recognised by PolyU.

Applications will be considered on the basis of the information (such as academic achievements, professional qualifications and work experience) provided in the application.

You may be required to attend an interview and/or test.

Departments will consider applications on a rolling basis until places are filled.
