The Urban Studies MSc program from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) key facts:

This interuniversity program provides a strong interdisciplinary perspective on urban studies, allowing you to follow a core trajectory of shared courses and to enjoy the freedom to specialise by selecting from a large range of elective modules and courses.

During this track, you can also choose to replace one elective module with an internship that allows you to gain experience in a working environment relevant to urban studies, such as an NGO, a local government administration, a consultancy firm or a European network or institution.

Keen to continue with a PhD? You can also choose to do a research-oriented internship by working in a university department or another research institution.

All degree programs offered by VUB are accredited by the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organisation (NVAO), ensuring that they meet the highest predefined quality standards. Alongside this official quality control system, VUB has an internal Quality Control Commission in charge of permanently monitoring the quality of education.

Have you completed a 180-ECTS academic bachelor degree or its equivalent in geography, planning, architecture, history, criminology, political science, sociology, demography, media and communication studies, cultural studies, or a similar discipline? You're welcome to apply for this program!

If you have a degree from a different field, please contact us and explain how your degree has helped prepare you for the Master in Urban Studies. You should also provide more information on your specific coursework (including transcripts of your course units).
