Overview
The Early Modern English Literature - Books That Matter is a unique collaboration between King's College London and the British Library. Throughout the course, students will engage with key literary works from the reign of Henry VIII through to the Restoration period, including texts by Shakespeare, Milton, and other notable authors. The curriculum is designed to equip students with the ability to navigate archives independently, fostering skills in reading early modern handwriting and transcribing historical documents.
Students will also have the opportunity to explore optional modules tailored to their interests, such as the role of women in early modern literature and the geographical implications of literary production.
