Overview
The Master of Science (MSc) in International Business at SBS Swiss Business School is structured into two key phases designed to combine academic learning with real-world experience.
- Year 1 – Academic Courses
During the first year, students complete a series of academic courses over four terms of 11 weeks each. This phase concludes with the submission and defense of a master’s thesis in front of a panel jury. Students are encouraged to select a business-related research topic aligned with their career goals, guided by an SBS-approved supervisor or faculty mentor.
- Year 2 – Professional Experience
The second year focuses on practical, professional experience, which may take the form of an internship or full-time employment in Switzerland or abroad. This period, typically lasting 9 to 12 months, allows students to apply classroom knowledge in real business environments and gain valuable global experience. The program concludes with a professional report that reflects on workplace achievements and the lessons learned throughout the experience.
