Overview
Key facts
For admission to these programmes, the student usually identifies a research area and consults with a potential supervisor (or a committee of supervisors) with expertise in the proposed area of research.
Once the student and potential supervisor/s are satisfied that the proposed project is viable, the student submits an application form to the Faculty of Humanities Graduate Office (Ground floor of South West Engineering, Main campus).
When the School in which the student is based (e.g. School of Education), has accepted the student, then the student may formally enrol.
Milestones will be set in the programme for the submission of the Proposal/Thesis. For full-time students on the Masters of Education in Deaf Education (MEd) offered at University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, the proposal must be submitted to Faculty Office within 6 (six) months after enrolment.
For part-time students, the proposal must be submitted to Faculty Office within 12 (twelve) months of enrolment.
