Overview
The English programme of Dentistry at Wroclaw Medical University consists of five successive academic years of dental, preclinical and clinical studies and is adapted to the common European programme, in keeping with the European admission standards for dental education.
Dentistry is a branch of medicine, which is why studying dentistry is similar to that of medicine in the first years. A dental surgeon deals with the prevention and treatment of oral diseases and disorders. After receiving a diploma, they can work as a dental surgeon in the field of dentistry as a whole, or a specialist with broader and more specialised knowledge in, for example, conservative dentistry, dental surgery, orthodontics, prosthetics or periodontology.

- From the third year, students are taught dental clinical subjects such as prosthetic dentistry, oral surgery, maxillofacial surgery, dental radiology, etc. After completing five years of studies and meeting requirements depending on the country, the students will be able to apply for a dental license. The diplomas are recognized in the EU and EFTA countries, the USA, Canada, India, Thailand and many others.
