Overview
The MSc Economics program follows a unique teaching approach. The classical, generic economics education focuses heavily on theory and methods, but often treats real-world applications as an afterthought. At Maastricht University , we turn this around. We start by identifying important societal challenges and then teach advanced economic theory and empirical methods to equip you with the knowledge and skills to address them. This teaching approach is in line with the “Maastricht-DNA” of problem-based learning and makes our program unique compared to other MSc Economics programs. The programme builds on and complements the fundamentals of your bachelor's programme in economics, as it teaches you how to apply economics to real-life challenges.
