Overview
This course brings together Forensic Archaeology and Forensic Anthropology. The MSc Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology from University of Dundee provides a deep understanding of how human remains are recovered and analysed.
Forensic archaeology uses archaeological methods to find and recover human remains. It also uses forensic evidence in crime scenes and humanitarian investigations.
Forensic anthropology focuses on the study of human remains. This is to help identify individuals for legal and humanitarian purposes.
Careers
The Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology MSc course offers a unique dual focus, combining the discipline of forensic archaeology and forensic anthropology. You will be trained to recover and analyse human remains in both legal and humanitarian investigations.
Through hands-on learning, you will develop key skills in forensic searches, excavation, skeletal analysis, report writing and presenting evidence as an expert witness.
Your learning will be shaped by real-world casework, including homicide investigations, repatriation, mass disasters and war crimes. This ensures that the skills you gain are directly applicable to the most urgent and complex forensic scenarios.
