Overview
The MSc Nanoelectronic Systems is offered by TU Dresden and focuses on the ongoing miniaturisation in the microelectronics industry leads to systems that are now being referred to as nanoelectronic systems. Such systems are advantageous for a variety of applications, but their design and implementation is becoming increasingly complex.
Fundamentals of estimation and detection, principles of dependable systems, semiconductor technology, hardware/software codesign, radio frequency integrated circuits. Students also have to choose courses from a variety of mandatory electives, among them: materials for nanoelectronics and vacuum technology, memory technology, optoelectronics, molecular electronics, etc.
The practical training (offered in parallel with theoretical concepts) develops skillsets and expertise that can be used during internships, project work, and the master’s thesis, which can be written at companies or research institutes.
Scope of the Degree Programme
Graduates of the Master's programme in "Nanoelectronic Systems" are familiar with methods, techniques and tools for the design and manufacture of nanoelectronic devices and for the application of these systems in selected application areas.
Through their broad technical knowledge and their acquired familiarity with the worldwide research community in the areas of design, manufacture and application of nanoelectronic systems, the graduates are qualified to manage varied and complex tasks in the design, manufacture or use of nanoelectronic systems in professional practice after an appropriate training period.
