SpaceMaster offers cross-disciplinary research-oriented education with first-hand and hands-on experience in space science, technology and engineering.
Learning outcomes
The Master Program in Space Science and Technology from Luleå University of Technology has a common first year in Kiruna, Sweden.
During the second year the students are at one of the European partner universities, which have different expertise in space. The Program curriculum is recognized by the consortium universities. This leads to two officially recognized Master’s degrees: a degree from LTU and, subject to having spent the second year at the partner university, a degree from that university.

General requirements
- Successful completion of a basic engineering program or a Bachelor´s degree with a minimum of 180 ECTS in the areas of physics (space, plasma, atmospheric, nuclear, particle, fluid dynamics, aerodynamics), space science, planetology, astronomy, atmospheric science, remote sensing, numerical simulations, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, space engineering, aerospace engineering, robotics, automation, communication, electronics, mechatronics, control theory or equivalent.
- A minimum of 22.5 ECTS in mathematics at the university level is required.
