Overview
As part of our Advancing Professional Practice Framework, this Professional and Higher Education program at Queen Margaret University has been designed in response to advancing practice and continuing professional development (CPD) needs of a range of professionals who teach and support learning at a higher education level.
It may be of interest to nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, social workers, doctors, lecturers in any discipline and professional services staff within areas of health and social care practice, higher education or other professional settings across practice, strategic and leadership educational contexts.
This pathway aims to:
- support you to advance your knowledge and skills to become an authentic, effective, dynamic and reflective facilitator of learning; and
- create transformative learning experiences through engagement with and being part of a community of learning and practice.

Advancing Professional Practice through learning: This pathway is also part of the Advancing Professional Practice Framework so you may choose to apply for a single option module, the full PgCert award or potentially continue on a Masters pathway within the Framework.

- A copy of your degree certificate

- One or two letters of reference, depending on the course
Honours degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline
International: English language: Where your honours degree has not been studied in English, you will be required to provide evidence of English language competence at no less than IELTS 6.5 with no individual component score less than 6.0.
- Some modules require individuals to be working in the specific area and/or access to an appropriate workplace setting (paid or voluntary) and require support of a line manager and workplace mentor.
