Overview

The Master's programme in international affairs is designed to meet the growing demand for educated professionals with knowledge of international affairs, equipping students for careers in the private sector, non-governmental organisations, state institutions or municipalities.

Upon completion of the International Affairs program at University of Iceland the student is able to demonstrate knowledge, skills and competence as listed below:

• Has broad knowledge of the academic field of international affairs and the relevant research methods used within it

• Is knowledgeable about the connections between international and domestic affairs and the role of international organizations

• Has acquired knowledge of a specific subject of international affairs through the completion of a research project

• Can provide arguments for their findings

• Can place contemporary theoretical and analytical knowledge in international affairs in the context of relevant research

• Is familiar with relevant research methods, theories, and ethical issues in international affairs, in particular as concerns Iceland and small states in general
