Overview
The Responsible Management and Business of Sport MBA/MSS programme from the University of Jyväskylä is a new form of collaboration between the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences and School of Business and Economics (JSBE) at University of Jyväskylä.
The core of the RESPO programme is to understand the areas and objectives of management and business of sport in various types of sport organizations and to apply principles of responsibility and ethical thinking.
Graduation from the program gives in-depth knowledge and skills to plan and execute strategic and tactical activities in managerial and expert positions related to management in today’s sport society. Employment possibilities in various sport are strong and constantly growing. After completing the programme you thrive to work in multicultural, diverse and interdisciplinary teams with high respect on ethical behavior and enhancing sustainability.
Career Opportunities:
Students of our programme have varying backgrounds, interests and career aspirations. The programme and its contents aim to give deep knowledge in the field of sport management. In addition, students usually select optional studies based on their interest to make the degree individualised. The graduates from our programme are thus working in many different kinds of expert and management positions in the private/commercial; public and voluntary fields of sport, physical activity, and well-being.Programme Structure

General requirements
- The higher education degree must provide eligibility for master’s level study in the country in which the degree was issued. Applicants holding a degree that gives eligibility for doctoral-level study should primarily seek admission to a doctoral programme.
- Suitable fields of the degree include:
- social sciences of sport or sport management
- business or economics
- other sport sciences
- social and administrative sciences
- other related fields (e.g. communications, health sciences)
- It is possible to accept applicants from other fields if their motivation is well explained and their previous degree (or other previous studies) include minor studies in business and/or sport studies.
