Overview
The Environmental Governance and Adaptation to Climate Change course at Estonian University of Life Sciences offers an in-depth journey through the essential science, policy, and practical skills required to manage, protect, and restore our environment while addressing climate change on both local and global scales. Core courses delve into critical scientific topics, such as climate dynamics, greenhouse gas emissions, pollution in air, water, and soil, ecosystem services, and sustainable biotechnology and waste management. The program also emphasizes policy, presenting a comprehensive look at environmental governance, from European and international climate policymaking to regulations in agriculture, forestry, water management, energy, and more. In addition, students explore modern approaches like citizen science, the development of urban green spaces, and the bioeconomy, equipping them to make a real impact on the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.
