Overview
Why choosing this course?
The Economics and Finance program of the University of Bergamo responds to the growing complexity of the economic-financial system in the era of digitalization, information, and big data. It is designed to train students with a strong scientific, cultural and professional profile. The aim is to allow our graduates to succeed in the international arena. The program architecture combines in a balanced way academic knowledge with applicative skills.
In particular, the MSc in Economics and Finance is designed to provide students with the theoretical and practical tools to operate and make decisions in conditions of uncertainty and risk. Our graduates will acquire a solid knowledge in economics, mathematics, statistics, and specific programming skills necessary to analyze and manage financial, insurance, and pension products, as well as to operate in the financial markets. More specifically, through two different curricula, graduates in Economics and Finance acquire specific skills in the most recent finance topics, with particular attention to sustainable finance, (big) data analytics, and risk analysis.
The program offers a balanced education between a theoretical background and empirical and quantitative skills. The aim is to prepare our graduates for a career in highly qualified jobs, such as in the dynamic world of banks, insurance companies, securities firms, asset management companies, and other types of financial intermediaries, as well as in other major institutions, like central banks, regulatory agencies, sovereign wealth funds, and international organizations.
The MSc in Economics and Finance gives students the opportunity to carry out exchange (Erasmus) programs with other universities, and internships in companies or institutions, both in Italy and abroad. EF students will have the opportunity of being involved in workshops, seminars, learning activities, and hackathons. Master's courses are entirely taught in English, favoring both the presence of international students and international visiting professors.
EF combines the benefits of both the small classes size, allowing for close relational and communication opportunities with the faculty, with the program's international vocation. Faculty members have scientific connections and research networks worldwide, and international visiting professors perform 20% of the teaching.
