Through this Geosciences degree program, Ruhr University Bochum students deepen their knowledge in a chosen geoscience field by studying advanced topics in MSc-level courses and conducting independent research. General requirements

Admission to the Master's program in Geosciences is open to students who have completed at least six semesters of a Bachelor's program in Geosciences with 180 credit points (CP) or a comparable program.

A further admission requirement is proof of:

At least 20 CPs in courses in physics, chemistry and/or mathematics.

At least 10 CPs in courses related to Earth sciences.

Admission to the Master's degree program in Geosciences may be subject to conditions, provided that these do not exceed 30 CP. The requirements and the time of their fulfilment shall be determined by the examination board.

Admission to the Master's degree program is not possible for those who have definitely failed a Master's degree program in the subject Earth Sciences or a related or comparable course of study at a scientific university.
