The LLM in Law and Technology at King's College London allows you to deepen or to broaden your knowledge of law as an academic subject and assists your professional development by enhancing your problem-solving skills in a transnational context. Designed to maximise students’ intellectual potential, it also keeps you grounded by drawing on the real-world experiences of staff and other practitioners.

We have a world-class teaching team consisted of dedicated full-time academics at The Dickson Poon School of Law and leading practitioners from legal, finance, and technology industries who collectively contribute to an extensive module offering as part of the LLM in Law and Technology pathway.

Based on our strong research and educational expertise in Law and Technology, we offer a wide range of modules for LLM students including e-commerce law, cyberspace law, intellectual property and copyright, media law, law of artificial intelligence, law of cryptocurrencies and blockchain, international financial law and venture capital, law and policy of financial technology, and competition law in relation to digital economy. It will allow you to build your own portfolio of professional knowledge, skills, and expertise to suit your own career needs.

We will study and research Law and Technology from an international, comparative, and transnational perspective, as we have academics specialising in tech laws and regulations in important jurisdictions such as UK, US, EU, and China.

General requirements

Undergraduate degree with high 2:1 honours (assessed as an overall average of at least 65% across all years of study) in Law or a degree with at least 70% law content, or an equivalent international qualification and grading.

Exceptionally, you may be considered where a comparable academic level has been achieved through other graduate studies (such as a Graduate Diploma in Law) and where work or experience (at least three years legal work experience) has made you a suitable candidate for the LLM.

A personal statement is required. (maximum 4,000 characters)

A copy (or copies) of your official academic transcript(s), showing the subjects studied and marks obtained.

You may wish to include a CV (Resume) or evidence of professional registration as part of your application.
