Overview
This International Course in Management of Civil Infrastructure from Kyoto University deals with the various topics with intentions to contribute to the maintenance, restoration and construction of sustainable societies on the earth. Specifically, we investigate subjects such as the construction and maintenance of infrastructures, disaster prevention, environmental problems, and resource and the energy developments.
Kyoto University puts particular stress on the improvement of analytical and predictive abilities for each components in the infrastructure from the standpoint of the computational and experimental mechanics. At the same time we promote investigations on the technological fundamentals for understanding huge systems ranging from earth's crust to the atmosphere, based on the state of the art technologies such as computational science, etc.

- The Department of Civil and Earth Resources Engineering aims the creation of the safe sustainable society with energy in harmony with the environment. Specifically, targeting the biotopes on the earth, structures therein and the resources underground as research object, we challenge technical innovation for construction of basic social infrastructure, effective utilization of resources and energy and creation of safe and sustainable global society.
- Kyoto University practices based on such technologies and thorough basic skills and practical applied skills necessary to be engaged on research and development, cultivate abilities to explore new technologies and human resources that can address flexibly the complexity in the society from international and multilateral prospective.

General requirements
- Must have graduated, or be expected to graduate from a Japanese university (excluding Undergraduate School of Global Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kyoto University) by March 31, 2023
- Must have completed, or be expected to complete 16 years of school education by March 31, 2023
- Must have received, or be expected to receive a degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree by March 31, 2023
- Must have completed 15 years of school education in a foreign country and must be recognized by the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University as having earned specified credits with excellent grades
- Must be qualified by means of an individual entrance examination by the Graduate School of Engineering of Kyoto University, must be judged to have academic ability equivalent or superior to a university graduate, and must be at least 22 years of age by March 31, 2023
