Key Features
Since the Department of History at Korea University produced its first three graduates in May 1950, the number of students entering the Department of History and graduating before it was subdivided in 1989 reached about 1,600.
Since then, the number of students who have entered the Department of Oriental History and Western History and graduated has reached 300 each. After the History program at Korea University was established at the university, the best scholars in Korea were invited as full-time professors to form the department.
This tradition has been passed down for decades, and the Department of History and its successors, the Department of Oriental History and Western History, have produced a large number of graduates under the guidance of excellent faculty.
The numerous graduates are spread across various fields of society, and their activities are distributed throughout the country. Many of them have entered the academia and have contributed greatly to the history and academia of Korea, and are still contributing through active activities. In particular, many graduates enter the education field, and many graduates enter research institutions, companies, the media, and relationships.

- The applicant must complete regular primary and secondary education, equivalent to Grades 1 to 12 in the Korean education system, either in Korea or overseas.
- Completion of qualification examinations and programs such as GED, homeschooling, online courses, or language schools, and so on from the level of primary, secondary to higher education are not regarded as equivalent to a regular academic school curriculum.
