The importance of food resource economics is growing as the domestic food self-sufficiency level has recently declined and food security and the weaponization of resources have emerged as important agendas in international organizations such as the WTO, FAO, and APEC.
About the Program
Food and Resource Economics at Korea University is an applied economics that deals with food problems and problems related to the development and application of natural resources. It is a branch of social science. It is a study that approaches food-related production, consumption, marketing, policy, trade, and financial and financial issues, as well as natural resource and environmental management issues in accordance with economic development from an economic point of view of rational use of resources. Food resource economics uses techniques such as economics, business administration, statistics, and management information systems to study food distribution and logistics, natural resources and the environment, production management and agribusiness, financial finance and consumer economy, international trade and futures trading ( futures trade), welfare and information economy.
