Overview
The modules Engineering and Management cover the entire value chain – from procurement through to research and development, production, sales and marketing. Particular focus is dedicated to “digitization”.
Digitization of products, processes and connectivity via the “internet of things” present major future opportunities and challenge for companies. In many industries, products and services involve significant software development. Products continuously record data, process it and/or share it with operators or connected devices. “Industry 4.0” comprises intelligently networked factories and innovative logistic solutions, among others. In Retail, mobile payment, shopping apps, augmented reality are becoming commonplace. Often times, digital transformation does not only affect products and processes, but also the company’s business model.
Graduates from Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, THI of the Engineering and Management program are well positioned to cope with these and other technologies driven challenges. In addition they are trained to view implement concepts globally and manage international teams and projects.
Careers
Technical designers work, among other areas, in product conception, the interface between the design and the technical areas, and as all-rounders with the ability to view and evaluate all aspects of product development.
