Dental and Craniofacial Science Chang Gung University

Overview

At Dental and Craniofacial Science at Chang Gung University twelve graduate institutes of dentistry were established in Taiwan over the recent decade. These graduate institutes primarily uniformly focus either on clinical dentistry or on basic science of dentistry.

Since there were no graduate institutes to combine clinical dentistry, craniofacial medicine and related basic science, Chang Gung University responded to this need by formally establishing its Graduate Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Science.

Aims

Improve quality in craniofacial medicine education:

• Faculty staff is provided with opportunities of professional training.
• Specialist physicians are trained to enhance their professional improvement skills according to the training curriculum of specialist physicians.

Improve quality in craniofacial medicine research:

• Basic and clinical research is integrated to make advances at the frontiers of the craniofacial field.

• Renowned scholars are invited as visiting professors.
• International graduate students are admitted in the institute. Class lectures are taught in English to cultivate physicians to have an international perspective.
• International cooperation projects are encouraged to build a more comprehensive and resourceful research environment for our students.
