Programme Intended Learning Outcomes 

After successful completion of the Music at Hong Kong Baptist University, students should be able to:

• Implement research skills appropriate to their area of professional work and interests, in an independent, rigorous, and creative manner.
• Effectively communicate concepts and experiences through the creation and evaluation of projects which show both intellectual and artistic endeavor in their musical elements.
• Critique the evolving body of theoretical knowledge, synthesizing ideas from cultural, technological, and pedagogical aspects of the programme.
• Apply technology creatively where appropriate, in a broad context of musical life, and relevant to individual, group, social and cultural interests.
• Develop academic, artistic, and technological bases for advanced and independent work in a variety of areas within the context of musical life in Hong Kong.

Career Prospects

The majority of graduates find employment in the field of music education, including teaching at the primary and secondary levels as well as private music teaching either individually or with various music companies. Other graduates have employment in music-related areas in commerce, industry, and civil service. A small number of graduates have continued to pursue postgraduate studies both locally and abroad.
