Overview
Given the multidisciplinary nature of aerospace research, topics vary and include but are not limited to: Safety-critical surveillance system design, and design of auxiliary systems, flight deck displays, flight operations, trajectory optimisation, air traffic management, energy recovery systems, taxiing operations, UAV’s and remotely piloted aircraft systems. Candidates are encouraged to come up with their own research proposals, which can be researched further under the guidance of IAT staff.
Career opportunities
- The international demand for employees who are specialised in aerospace is growing significantly. This is also expected to reflect in the national demand. The skills, knowledge and knowhow developed in the masters by research programme is of direct relevance to the overall aerospace sector.
- Therefore the Aerospace degree at the University of Malta will provide value to graduates seeking employment in areas ranging from airline operations, air vehicle design or aircraft maintenance.
- The student will also develop the academic, technical and professional skills that will enable him/her to further his/her studies in the field at a doctoral level.
