Overview

By the end of the Applied Chemistry programme offered by the University of Malta ., you will:

• Gain insight on research and development of originator and generic medicinal product development.

• Possess an overview of the actions and uses of medicinal products in clinical practice and the manufacturing of medicinal products.

• Understand spectrophotometric, spectroscopic, photometric and chromatographic techniques.

• Understand the formulation and processing conditions employed in the manufacture of medicinal products, together with the effects of these parameters on medicinal product safety, quality and efficacy.

• Demonstrate a critical understanding of the theoretical perspectives in your chosen area of study.

• Report and discuss the results of your research in a clear, structured and concise form.

Careers 

• As a holder of the M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry, you will be able to enter a career as an analytical chemist, production chemist, laboratory supervisor, chemical engineering, teacher and researcher. 

• The option of enrolling in a doctorate study is available in an institution of your choice if you would like to further your studies, provided you meet the required criteria to do so.
