You are afforded the choice of a wide range of subjects beyond Classical Greek and Roman literature and are encouraged to look at antiquity from an interdisciplinary standpoint.

If you’re interested in the origins of our artistic, literary and cultural traditions, the Master’s in Classics  at the University of Malta  encourages you to look at the spatial and socio-cultural contexts for a more complete view of the world.

Learning outcomes

• Write and publish academic works of high-standard involving the field of Classical studies

• Learn how to make use of archival resources and to write academically about the field

• Collect data for research analysis and apply sources and references to strengthen your writing

• Cultivation of a critical understanding of a research process

Careers

• As a holder of the MA in Classics (by Research), you will be able to enter a career as an academic researcher, museum/gallery curator, or as a teacher. 

• Other careers, both locally and internationally, where your degree will prove useful are roles as an archivist, heritage manager, newspaper journalist, market researcher, or as an editorial assistant.

• If you would like to enter an academic career and further your studies, you may enrol in a doctorate programme offered by the Faculty of Arts at the University of Malta, or at a foreign institution abroad.
