Noncommunicable diseases (NCD) are responsible for up to 70% of deaths worldwide (World Health Organization). Physical inactivity and inadequate physical fitness are major risk factors for NCD’s. Consequently, Sport Science can make a crucial contribution to improving individual and public health.
